Getting Them Sober
Published in Paperback by Bridge-Logos Publishers (April, 1986)
Authors: Toby Rice Drews and Roby Rice Drews
Average review score:

THE BEST BOOK EVER WRITTEN FOR FAMILIES OF ALL ADDICTS
THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST BOOK EVER WRITTEN FOR THE FAMILIES OF ALCOHOLICS AND ADDICTS. FOLLOW THIS PATH AND GET SOMEWHERE. PLAIN SPOKEN AND EASILY UNDERSTANDABLE. A HOW TO.

Indespensible
Toby Rice Drews is in a class by herself. She is an absolute sanity saver and a restorer of health and equlibrium. I have been blessed with knowing Toby, and she is in person as she appears in all of her books--warm, gentle, loving, and a true giver. I have given her books to friends and family and they have found them indespensible. One slept at night with her Bible on the pillow next to her and Toby's books on top.

A Life-Saver!
Quite candidly, Toby Rice Drews has made this book an ongoingly useful tool to keep around. Each chapter is independent and helps one deal with the situation/crisis at hand, and yet I found it powerful to read the whole book in two days. I have tools now that truly help me regain control of my life with an alcoholic, both when he is drunk and also when he is moody between his drunken episodes. This author is excellent. I also wish she'd publish a book written for the alcoholic that addresses the psychological wounds he has inflicted on his family and gives him tools to accept what he has done and to change his actions. And please I hope someone does a comparison of all volumes by T.R. Drews. I am anxious to reap all her wonderful help.

IN AND OUT OF LOVE NANCY DREW ON CAMPUS 22

it was awesome
it was a very cute book and it really does deserver 5 stars*! but the sad thing was gary's death he didn't deserve that. Nadia and Jake were a perfect couple. and maybe later on nancy will find a very nice guy that deserves her. she's nice.:)

can't nadia just go away????
Good book. But I really don't like Nadia. Even though it was Nancy's desicsion to break up with Jake, Jake's realtionship with Nadia had driven an even bigger wedge between them. Do you ever think that Nancy and Jake will return to each other's arms? I hope so. They make the best couple. By the way, are they canceling the series?

I love this book, & most of series. Nancy can't keep love
I love this book, & most of series. Nancy can't keep love. I think that the sub-plot of Nancy's father and his new girlfriend is both refreshing and odd. The childish temper tantrum is out of charcter. Is the series canceled? Is there a #23:Otherewise engaged? Hmmmmmmmmmm.............

The Clue of the Leaning Chimney (Nancy Drew Mysteries)
Published in Paperback by HarperCollins Publishers (10 May, 1984)
Author: Carolyn Keene
Average review score:

An Exciting Mystery
This review concerns the original 1949 edition as well as the edited 1967 edition which has a plot similar to the original. Bess' cousin Dick asks for Nancy's help when a valuable, old, oriental vase that was on display is stolen from his pottery shop. He also tells Nancy about a pit of china clay that is supposed to be located somewhere around River Heights near a leaning chimney. The clay is used in making fine pottery and could make Dick wealthy if he could find it. Finally, the owner of the stolen vase, Mr. Soong, seeks Nancy's help in finding his missing friend and the man's daughter, who came to America a few years previous, but disappeared before they arrived at Mr. Soong's. This is certainly one of the more interesting books of the Nancy Drew series. The book quickly grabbed my attention and managed to hold it until the final page, which I can really only say happened with about 1/3 of the books in the series. There is quite a bit of action in the book and the writing is very good, at least in the original edition; unfortunately, in most of the revised editions the writing has been dumbed down. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end and I think that most Nancy Drew fans would place this one on their Best Of the Series lists.

Nancy Drew's News
This book is really really good. Instead of a 5 star rating it deserves a 10 star rating. I could not put this book down. It was so bad that my reading teacher had to yell at me to pay attention and stop reading.I read this book in one day because I could not put it down. It was like my eyes were glued to the pages. My friend was doing a book report and she needed a book, she never ever reads so i was like just take this one and she finished it in one day also! The whole collection of Nancy Drew's book are like this, they are all really good,at least a 4.5 rating for all of them.I have only 30 books of the collection and I am still going, I am trying to finish the whole series, Carolyn Keene won't let you down, when it comes to a good book.Ths book is really, really good and i have nothing bad to say about it! Now since my friend read "The Clue of the leaning Chimney," she has asked her mom to get the rest of the collection. This book has action, laughs, thrillers, and much much more. Anyone who reads this review should believe me and get this 5 star rating book!

This book is a brilliant book which stretches your mind.
When I first read this book I couldn't put it down.It was sointeresting and excitable. All the time I couldn't wait to read whatwould happen next.I would encourage anyone who is interested in mysteries and detective novels to read this book, as this is one of the best book I have ever read.

Dreamweaver MX Web Development
Published in Paperback by New Riders (30 July, 2002)
Author: Drew McLellan
Average review score:

A nice change of pace
I received this book, expecting it to be heavy on the server-side lingo and practices, but was pleasantly surprised to see that it dealt with the basics right through to the advanced areas of site conception, layout and design, static and dynamic sites.

If you are familiar with Dreamweaver MX (Self taught) and want to know more about actual web development, both static and application, then this is a must read book for you. The book is clearly for the web developer starting out through to those that are somewhat familiar with 'the way of the web' through surfing and brain picking in the newsgroups.

Drews writing style made the book very easy to read and although I consider myself to be html knowledgable, the book taught me a few things especially related to tables and accessability.

Thanks Drew for the great book!

Just the "kick start" I needed
Drew McLellan's new book (dreamweaver mx web development) is fantastic! It's easy and quick to read, yet full of useful information and tips about the many valuable tools and options in Dreamweaver MX. Real world scenarios helped me understand how to apply the tools to my particular situations.

I will let others go into the details of the contents - I'd rather write briefly about how the book inspired me. I knew I'd lost sight of "work smarter, not harder" in my daily struggles to keep a dozen web sites updated. This well-written and totally enjoyable book was the "kick start" I needed; I took the time to read, rethink my work processes, learn even more about Dreamweaver MX, and move on to a much more efficient work style.

The time you take to read this book will repay itself again and again in improving your efficiency!

Great for Dreamweaver MX

Hitched for the Holidays / A Groom in Her Stocking (Harlequin Duets, No. 90)

delightfully delicious Christmas cheer
"Hitched for the Holidays" by Jennifer Drew. Mindy Ryder needs a beau rather quickly because her father is coming from Pittsburgh to spend the holidays with her and her doctor boyfriend. If her dad learns that Mindy is not even dating anyone he will make her his project. Her Corgi's vet Eric Kincaid commiserates with her because his mother is always scheming to get him married and agrees to masquerade as her boyfriend human doctor. His mother gets wind of Mindy and with her father places pressure on the two of them to marry even as they begin to fall in love with one another. Though interfering parents and pretend dating has been often used as plot devices, Jennifer Drew draws an amusing romantic romp.

"A Groom in Her Stocking" by Barbara Dunlop. Lindsey Parker becomes the first person in fifteen years in the Vancouver office to achieve Gold Merit Certification. However, as her professional career attains stratospheric status and potential partnership, her personal life is lower than Death Valley having not dated in what seems forever. She goes away for the holidays only to have Aunt Camellia, known for her accurate forecasting, predict Lindsey will become engaged to Bobby. However, though she goes through a wedding rehearsal with Bobby the bartender, she loves pilot RJ Webster, who believes he is not good enough for her. The secondary characters seem to come out of Northern Exposure as they turn an implausible tale into a humorous romp.

Both tales provide romantic comedy as Ms. Drew and Ms Dunlop deliver delightfully delicious Christmas cheer.

Nancy Drew's Review!
I found this book to be really good, but I would've liked it a little longer haha! HerInteractive has been coming out wth Nancy Drew games for the computer & the reason I wanted this book was because I have the game. The game was fun but there were differences between both. If it were exactly the same , then the game would be easy! Well i have to say I really liked it & in parts they really throw you off-track on who did it in the end!

Nancy has done it again!!!
Nancy goes with her friends,Bess and George, and her house keeper Hannah to help renovate an old Victorian mansion waiting to become a bed and breakfast in Los Angeles, California.Nancy goes not suspecting to embark upon such a whirlwind of a case with someone,or something, behind accidents in the mansion that cannot be explained. If Nancy doesn't solve this mystery, who knows how dangerous the next act may be.The only way to find out, is to buy this book and find out for yourself.I give this one two thumbs way,way up for the suspense that keeps you asking for more.

Good book
This was a great book the clues are fun to pick up along the way and there are many suspectes, EVERYONE!! but I think you should read the book!! It was great.

Mystery of the Tolling Bell (Her Nancy Drew Mystery Stories)
Published in Hardcover by Price Stern Sloan Pub (June, 1973)
Author: Carolyn Keene
Average review score:

One Of The Best Nancy Drews
This review concerns the original 1946 edition and the revised 1973 edition which is similar to the original, only it is shorter. Nancy, Bess and George travel to Candleton to help one of Mr. Drew's long-time clients, Mrs. Chantrey, who has been cheated out of some of her money. While there, Nancy also learns of another mystery concerning a nearby cave along the coast. The cave is reported to be inhabited by a ghost. Whenever anyone comes too near to the cave, the ghost sounds a tolling bell as a warning to leave at once before water comes rushing out of the cave. Several people have almost drowned and one person actually did die. Intrigued by the mystery, Nancy becomes determined to learn the true secret of the cave. This is definately one of the better Nancy Drew books. The mystery is interesting, the writing is good and there is plenty of action and suspence. I enjoyed this book very much and was never bored by it at all. Something I particularly liked about this book was that Nancy actively participated in capturing most of the criminals. This is a great book that I strongly recommend to any fan of Nancy Drew.

Nancy Drew Solves A Mystery Around For Years
This was the eighth book I read, and possibly the best! When Nancy goes on vacation she ends up in a mystery. Her father isn't there yet so she goes out looking for him. She also is sloving the case of the tolling bell which tolls right before water comes rushing out. Aperson dies and a ghost has been seen the end is for you to find out.

Ancient bell
Nancy, George and Bess are bound for a week at the seashore, intending to swim, sun and relax, when they encounter a mystery. There is a cave at the edge of the sea which, when the incoming tide arrives, resonates with the deep sound of a tolling bell. Local legend has it that the bell warns anyone exploring in the cave that they have only a few minutes to flee for their lives before the water surges powerfully through the cave.

I recently read this book for the first time as an adult, and I appreciate the marvelous plotting, smooth and exact language, and finely drawn characters of author Carolyn Keene. Readers of any age will be captivated. Highly recommended.
